Parents are being allowed to pick their children up from the Ashdown Elementary School today, because the building has no power.
Of course no power, means no air conditioning on this very hot August day.
Here is the message to parents on the Ashdown School District website:
Due to a power outage at Ashdown Elementary, students will not be counted absent today. Students that have already been dropped off, may be picked up. Ashdown Elementary will count this as an AMI (Alternate Method of Instruction) Day. THIS IS ONLY AT ASHDOWN ELEMENTARY. All other campuses have power and will continue with a normal day. Students missing from them will be counted absent.
