As of Monday, April 6, 2020, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutcheson has cancelled all school within the state, for the rest of the year.  For the rest of the year, students will attend school remotely via AMI (Alternate Method of Instruction)

According to Ronda Pounds, Ashdown Schools Public Relations Coordinator,

During this time meals will be served to any child that is younger than 18 years old, starting this week meals will be delivered on Monday through Thursday (Thursday’s meal pickups will have meals for both Thursday and Friday).  We have multiple options for picking up these meals:  You may continue to pick up meals at the main entrance of Ashdown High School, from 9-10 am Monday through Thursday.  We will also have a bus delivery at the former Brown Junior High School between 9:15 and 9:30 am Monday – Thursday, a bus delivery at the Westside Mobile Home Park between 9:30 and 9:45 am, and finish up at the apartment complex on East Lawrence Street between 9:45 and 10 am.
*Students living along bus routes should be at their nearest stop and drivers assisted by staff will be distributing the meals (and paper AMI packets if needed).
*Please be watching as stop times could change a little each day.
*If you have not received meals and would like one, please call 898-4485.
Students receiving meals along bus routes can have their AMI packet delivered if needed and return completed packets each week. Please contact the appropriate school office (s) if you would like your packets delivered. You must be home and come out to meet the bus if you schedule delivery.
For students living outside of the city limits, we will continue to bring meals to your bus stops Monday through Thursday, from 9-11am.

As of now, students in grades K–8 will work in the AMI guides.

These Learning guides and resources can be found by clicking the following link. They are available online, and will be copied for students without internet access. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vxd9887IdtoRdhBsVAkEKhiVc02ySUKJPXhTTtXQgvQ/edit
As far as the homework packets are concerned, Pounds added this information:
Ashdown Elementary- new packets for AMI Days will be available through the car rider line starting Monday from 9-12. Completed packets for Days 1-10 can be dropped off at this time. Spring pictures have not been delivered at this time. We will let parents know when they arrive and have been sorted.   If you have a library book at home, please return to school with your completed packet by April 27, 2020.

~LF Henderson will have new AMI packets available Monday-Friday from 9-12.  You will drop off old packets and get the new packet each week. We will have a drive thru down the bus drive. Please enter from Burke street so the driver side will be next to the building, it will be backwards from the normal bus drive, but this way the driver can stay in the car.

~AJHS packets will be ready on Monday and can be picked up from 8:30-12 and completed packets dropped off.
If you have adequate internet service and are completing work in Google classroom, AMI packets are not needed.
School offices will be open for phone calls (AE 898-3711; LFH 898-3561; AJHS 898-5138; AHS 898-3561) from 8-12 Monday – Friday.
