Each year, 4-H and FFA students participate in the Bowie County Project Show.

Here is the Press Release from Cherrie Curtis Bowie County 4-H Agent:

This year’s show was held February 27th and 28th at the Four States Fairgrounds.   Youth enter not only livestock but also agriculture mechanics competitions, photography and art competitions.

Ag Mechanics projects included picnic tables, cattle feeders, chicken coop, utility trailers, deer stands, fire pits, decorative metal gates, hog trap and a wooden shooting bench.  Some of the ag mechanics projects were offered for sale through a silent auction. Livestock show winners were presented to buyers for a premium auction. Due to the rules for Texas major livestock shows to remain eligible livestock entered in the majors cannot change ownership even if for a few seconds.  So, the buyers do not actually take possession of the livestock. Hopefully as this show grows, so will the desire to purchase projects just for the Bowie County Project Show and buyers will have the option to take possession of the project.
