Thanks to the Wuhan Coronavirus, many sporting events and conventions have now been cancelled. Along with those cancellations, some country music concert tours, festivals and events have also been cancelled or postponed.

SXSW (South By Southwest) the huge musical event in Austin, which was to have been from March 13th through the 22nd, was cancelled as of March 6th. That is sad news for those of us in Texarkana, who were planning to go see local musician John Tennison perform. Maybe next year, John.

RodeoHouston, the 2020 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, pulled the plug on itself on Wednesday, March 11th. In a release, show-goers were informed that “In the interest of public health, the City of Houston and the Houston Health Department have ordered the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to close. The Rodeo will respectfully and dutifully comply with the City’s order.” RodeoHouston was to have run from March 3rd through the 22nd.

Postponed shows and tours include: Zac Brown Band The Owl Tour, cancelled now through April 25th…Dan + Shay’s tour, which just began on March 6th, is postponed until this July , through Halloween…the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival, which was to have been March 24th–28th, has been postponed indefinitely, due to the Nashville tornado and the coronavirus….both the Cochella and Stagecoach festivals, slotted for the month of April, have been now postponed until October of this year.

UPDATE–: Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion, March 19th, Luck, Texas.. is now cancelled, as of Friday, March 13th, 2020.

UPDATE–: Gene Watson at Music City Texas Theater, March 28th has been postponed until Saturday, October 31st. Refunds are being honored on the tickets.

UPDATE:–The Grand Old Opry has announced that it will pause performances with a live audience now through Saturday, April 4th, 2020. The Saturday Night Opry Show will go back to its original format as a live radio broadcast, without a live audience. If you were going to the Opry in Nashville, contact Customer Service at opry.com

The Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, April 5th–still on.

CMA Fest, June 4–7th in Nashville is still on. Tornado or not; coronavirus or not.  Nashville can probably use a cash infusion from country music fans right now.

That’s what we are aware of right now. We will add to this list, as soon as we learn more.
