If you aren’t a gardener or farmer…or have friends who are, you might be missing out on all of the locally-grown fruits and veggies this summer. Well. Miss out, no more.

The Gateway Farmers Market is open three days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, from 7:00 AM until 12 noon. Gateway is located at 602 East Jefferson, on the Arkansas side of town. Up to 20 vendors sell a variety of items, including: fresh local vegetables, fruits, baked goods, jams, jellies, some crafts, and even USDA meats. The local growers and farmers are said to come from a 75-mile-wide radius of Texarkana; also the farms are inspected, before being allowed to participate. The motto is: “Eat Fresh and Shop Local.”

Although the Texarkana, Texas Farmers Market closed for the season last week, due to COVID-19 concerns, the farmers and producers still are able to provide you with their freshest vegetables and fruits from their gardens. The Mobile Farmers Market Box is available every Wednesday. This way, you can socially distance, and still support these local growers.  You may specify your preferences, then pick up your box on Wednesdays at Southwest Center, 3222 W.7th Street. To learn more and to order, simply go to the website at texarkanafarmersmarket.com
