Have You Cut The Cord

A few years back it was cool to say you “cut the cord”. And by cut the cord I mean cut out your dependence on getting your TV from a cable or satellite provider. People used the internet and sometimes outside TV antennas to try and get for FREE what they had paid lots of money for before.

At first, it seemed like a good idea. Save money and still be able to see most of what was available on Cable and Satellite. But now it seems that the cost of using Streaming Services is going up and up and up. Soon you will be paying more to have what used to be Free or Cheaper than you could get on Cable or Satellite.

I keep seeing stories about how Dish and Directv are about to die. Maybe this has something to do with the Streaming Services feeling they can keep raising their prices? Less competition usually equals Higher Prices.  Capitalism 101, you get what you pay for.

What about you? How do you get your TV these days? Do you still use Cable? Dish? Directv? Or do you Stream what you watch these days?

How much are you saving? Or are you actually spending more than you used to have to pay for simple cable service? I’m too far away for outside antennas to provide me with a watchable signal. Besides, I’ve grown lazy and really like being able to DVR shows and watch when I want. You cannot do that with just an antenna. The TV seems to be getting more complicated the Bigger the Screens get.  Sometimes I long for the Good Ole Days of just 3 channels…that I actually watched.
