Historic flooding is underway on this Tuesday across a section of Southwest Arkansas.

A final reminder of former Hurricane Barry has dumped a deluge of rain across that area since midnight last night. Over 10 inches of rain has been reported in some areas from Dierks to Nashville, onto the Delight and Blevins areas. The flooding extended onto the east to Prescott, Gurdon, and all the way to Arkadelphia.

Numerous rescues of vehicles and even some homes have been reported. Many roadways were impassable. Including the closure of a section of Interstate 30 near the Nevada and Clark county line, and Highway 371 between Prescott and Blevins because of the flooding.

Fortunately as of now, no injuries have been reported. The good news is that the heavy rain is expected to move out of the area later this afternoon, and the rest of the week is expected to be dry and warm.
