Tomorrow morning if you the Interstate 30 westbound exit that you would normally use to take to get to Richmond Road/St. Michael Hospital/Cowhorn Creek during your commute plan on an alternate route to Exit 222 due to construction. We have complete details below.

Although not a part of the Interstate 30 widening project, TxDOT has a contractor doing maintenance work on sections of the westbound frontage road (St. Michael Drive) and also Interstate 369 (Jarvis Parkway) from Interstate 30 to US 59. They will be removing sections of distressed pavement and replacing it with new pavement. They’ll be working during the daytime, so you should expect various lane closures that might cause some delay.

The first work is supposed to begin at 7:00 in the morning (Wednesday). It will involve temporarily closing the Interstate 30 westbound exit that you would normally take to get to Richmond Road/St. Michael Hospital/Cowhorn Creek. You’re going to have to take Exit 222, which is the one immediately past Stateline Avenue to get to these areas. They warn that there will also be some lane closures on St. Michael Drive itself, so you should expect some delays if you’re driving there.

Later in the week, they will be working on St. Michael Drive further to the west – specifically between Richmond and Pavilion Parkway and then between Exit 218 (Kings Hwy) and Kings Hwy itself. There will be various lane closures in these two locations too when they are working there and Exit 218 itself will be closed for part of the time.

You might want to consider taking another route during the day for the rest of this week if you hope to avoid the delays in this area.
They also recommend checking traffic updates at www.drivetexas.org.
