Remember the XFL? Well, now it’s back again. Did you even know? Will it last this time? Have you watched any games yet? I think I have seen maybe 10 plays. I don’t even know what innovations or changes the XFL has brought this go around.
I did see a “strange” kick-off formation. Where it looked like the Defense was lined up right next to the returning team’s blockers. The kicker was kicking from the usual location on the field. I guess it was to cut down on high-speed collision impacts when the runner is tackled? But since I’ve yet to watch an entire game I’m pretty much in the dark. I do know that last time the XFL existed it did bring a lot of new ways of doing things that the NFL eventually adopted.
