Do you remember your High School Graduation? I’m sure this year 2020 Graduates will remember theirs. Strange times will make the Graduations that happen this year more memorable than most years.
But even though it’s been many more years than I care to admit I still remember my time in the hot graduation gowns on the football field at my high school. I don’t recall any big news to make my 1974 Graduation stand out as this year will be.
I do remember that some students had started to celebrate a little early. One of them was in front of me and I had to help keep him standing up. Thankfully, he was able to pull it together enough to walk across the field to get his diploma.
I also remember some of the students wearing very little under the gowns. I don’t blame them. It was HOT. But I was fully clothed under my robe and sweating more than usual. I could not wait for the ceremony to get over so I could get some relief.
