For those of us who are needing some food assistance or help with our children’s ability to access the internet, in order to complete and turn in homework, here is the latest:

Flower Acres Baptist Church and East Texas Food Bank will have another unscheduled truck coming in on Monday, April 6th, somewhere between 10 and 11 AM. Watch for the exact time to be announced. Please, clean out your vehicle’s trunk. The volunteers load truck and back hatches ONLY, per CDC guidelines. Do not block driveways. Do not roll down your windows on the church property. Wear a mask or scarf. No ID is required to pick up food. (Per Angela Lockamy)

We currently have nearly 300 requests for necessary items. Many THANKS to Camille Coker at Harvest Texarkana Food Bank, with the food donations. We still need toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and cleaning products. We can purchase many of these, so financial donations are very much appreciated.  Item drop-off locations are:

For student internet services, several area churches have stepped up, including:

Beech Street First Baptist Church, 601 Beech St, Texarkana, AR is offering for students and parents to sit in the comfort of their car, so that students may access free internet, from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM. NOTE: the inside facilities will not be open.

Richmond Road Baptist Church,  5805 Richmond Road, Texarkana, TX is offering free wi-fi and the use of their parking lot, saying:

Parents & Students, we have a guest wifi connection available at the church building for any school age child to use to help with their studies. Although the building itself will not be open, you are able to pick up this free wifi from the safety of your own car when parked round the building. We are making this available because some children do not have internet that is necessary to complete their school work. Praying for all students and parents in the Texarkana community.
