Now Legal to Hunt Feral Hogs Without License in Texas

As of September 1st its now legal to hunt feral hogs without a hunting license in the state of Texas.

This law allows the hunting of the hogs on your property, or any other private property that you have permission to hunt the animals on. Hunting licenses are still required on public property.  Hunter education is still in effect.

Feral hogs, cause millions of dollars of damage to crops, and pastures across the state every year. There is an estimated 1.5 million feral hogs in Texas.

Feral hogs can weigh up to and over 400 pounds and can be dangerous if trapped or wounded or threatened.

These hogs live an average of 4 to 5 years, but can live longer.
