As a Covid precaution, the funeral for Lt. Clay McClure will be limited in attendees.
According to Texarkana Texas Public Information Officer Shawn Vaughn, the inside services at Chapelwood Funeral home Monday afternoon, will be limited to his family, officers assigned to his shift, and honorary pallbearers.
Other officers and first responders will have the ability to view the services from their vehicles in the parking area via livestream on Texarkana Funeral Home’s Facebook Page at 2pm.
These officers will be able to participate in the service outside by escorting McClure’s remains to the cemetery outdoor pavilion. The TTPD Honor Guard will then present the ceremonial portion of the service, which will include a 21 gun salute, playing of Taps, Officer’s last call on the radio, and presentation of the flag to the family.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will handle calls for service on the Texas side to allow TTPD officers to attend the service and pay their final respects to Lt. McClure.
