We have a mini-heatwave going on across our area and much of the country to end this week. But is there relief on the way?

Temperatures in the mid 90’s and high humidity has the Heat Index well above 100 degrees. With that in mind Heat Advisories are in effect for the entire Four States region.

However, the National Weather Service prediction center indicates below normal temperatures for this time of the year could affect the area for the final days of July starting early next week.

Check out the 6-10 outlook from NOAA, as well as the 8-14 day outlook that will take us into early August.

High temperatures in the mid 90’s now could drop into the mid to upper 80’s next week. While not cool, that would be actually below what is considered normal temperatures for late July.

This time of year, we will certainly take any break we can get. Until the relief gets here, please remember to take precaution if you have to work, or decide to play out in the heat. Where light, loose fitting clothes if possible. Be sure and drink plenty of replenishing liquids. Water is the best choice. Take plenty of breaks and get to shading or preferably air conditioning if you can.

For those longing for the Summer to end, September and Labor Day is just over 40 days away!
