Rest In Peace Senior Cpl Jeff Neel

Senior Corporal Jeff Neel of Hope, Arkansas, died Aug. 4, 2021, in Plano, Texas, where he was receiving medical care for complications derived from COVID-19. He was 55 years old.
“Jeff was a true member of his community, and he will be sorely missed,” Col. Brad Young, chief of the AGFC’s Enforcement Division, said. “Let us remember him for his love of family, passion for the great outdoors, and the contributions he made to his community. His passing has and will greatly affect us all. Jeff will be missed more than words can express.”

A United States Army veteran, Neel served with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for 21 years at the Hope Regional Office during his entire career. Before joining the AGFC, he served as a Sgt. for the City of Hope Police Department. He was a dedicated officer who participated as an instructor in the AGFC’s Enforcement Training School, teaching advanced driving techniques to wildlife officer cadets as well as other subjects. He received the Governor’s Lifesaving Award in 2014, as well as a special commendation in 2018 for his actions rescuing stranded boaters on Millwood Lake in Little River County during life-threatening conditions.

Senior Cpl. Neel leaves behind a wife, children, grandchildren and countless friends and coworkers. Funeral services are under the direction of BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope.
