Texas A&M University-Texarkana and the Program for Learning And Community Engagement (PLACE) are holding a lecture titled “Scent and Mental Health” with Dr. Ben Neuman on Monday, October 28th . The event will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. in University Center room 217. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Dr. Ben Neuman will discuss how what we smell is connected via smell, attractiveness, and mental health. Lecture attendees will actually smell pheromones and their effects on behavior and perception. Also, how smell triggers memories will be discussed.

Dr. Newman is an Associate Professor of Biology and Chair of Biological Sciences at TAMUT.

This first-year biology lecture is about the connection between what we smell, attractiveness, and mental health. Everyone at the lecture will get the chance to smell pheromones and learn about their effects on perception and behavior. We will also go into the mechanism of how a smelly particle entering the nose turns into a thought. Join us in UC 217!
