There are ways to keep yourself and your valuables safer and more secure this Summer.

Here is a Press Release from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department:

Summer officially showed up!
It is that time again, and Corporal Christine Knouse would like to remind everybody our 9 at 9 is back!!! So let’s go over them.
1) Are your doors closed? Car doors, garage doors, shed doors, etc….….
2) Are your doors locked? Car doors, garage doors, shed doors, house doors, etc.….
3) Are your outside valuables put away? Bicycles, ATVs, tools…
4) Are your valuables removed from inside your vehicle? KEYS, garage door openers, credit cards, lab tops, iPads, phones, purses, wallets, and GUNS, vehicles are not gun safes. Most stolen gun cases that detectives work on come from unlocked vehicles.
5) Have you checked your mail?
6) Does your exterior lighting work? Porch lights, floodlights, and streetlights. If you have non-working streetlights in your neighborhood, you can call the electric co-op and advise them, and they will replace the non-working lamp.
7) Don’t just be a neighbor, BE A NEIGHBOR! Look out for one another.
8) Are your fur babies secure?
9) Last but not Least: WHERE ARE YOUR KIDS AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING?
