The Texas High Tigers 2019 football season may have come to an end last Friday, but it was a terrific run for Coach Stanford and his players.

The Tigers made it to the 2nd round of the Texas State Playoffs for the first time in about a decade. The Tigers finished at 7-4, including winning four of the last 5 games. That win streak also saw the Tigers march to Lufkin and eliminate the highly touted Panthers.

The future looks bright for the Tigers with Coach Stanford and his staff.

Unfortunately the Texas High season did end with their 45-30 loss to a very talented Independence team out of Frisco. The Tigers actually led 17-14 at half, but the second half belonged to the team from Frisco.

Tyrell Miller played at running back for the injured Tracy Cooper. He rolled up almost 140 yards rushing. Quarterback Rian Cellers passed for over 150 yards and Senior receiver Kobe Webster finished his career with a five reception night.

It was a season too remember, as Coach Stanford and his team have now returned Texas High to playoff prominence and you can expect to see this become a regular occurrence in the years to come.
