The Big Game Meal at Our House

Last night, I asked Stuart, ‘What do you want as far as Super Bowl food this year?’ ‘Oh, I don’t know. Nothing much’. ‘Well, since Kansas City is playing, let’s have some barbeque, what do you say?’

Since I had this bright idea, maybe we should have Kansas City style barbeque. I have often wondered just WHAT makes their Midwestern meat any different. It’s not the meat so much, as it is the sauce. So I Googled it.

Kansas City, Missouri’s thick, sweet, and tangy sauces dominate the collective consciousness when it comes to American barbecue traditions. … Ketchup and molasses give it a sweeter, heavier consistency while additives like liquid smoke impart a barbecue flavor in lieu of coals, fire, or a smoker.

Well, that sounds delish. We have ketchup, and some liquid smoke, check. Might have to invest in some molasses, though.

Or…I think I will just buy some  Sweet Baby Ray’s KC Style BBQ and not worry about it.

I don’t think that I should sweat it for the Game, Party of Two.

All Y’all Enjoy!
