Sadly we lost two county music icons in the last couple of days. Friday, August 20, County Music storyteller Tom T Hall passed away at his home in Tennesse. We enjoyed his unique sense of music and ability to weave a rich story within a song like Harper Valley PTA. On Saturday, August 23, Heaven gained another angel, 84-year-old Don Everly. Don Everly, best known for his collaborations with Phil, forming the Everly Brothers.
Tom T. Hall passed away on Friday, August 20th, at the age of 85. Tom T. Hall’s music became a hallmark of country music. His ability to capture emotion and vivid descriptions were second to none. We could go on and on trying to pick our favorite.
Singer Don Everly died on Saturday at the age of 84. Everly was one half of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo The Everly Brothers along with his late brother Phil. The two churned out multiple hits in the late 50s and early 60s and inspired many other artists, including the Beatles and the Beach Boys. The Everly Brothers were part of the very first class of the Hall of Fame in 1986.
