Who Was That Masked Person

To mask, or not to mask? Currently, that is the question.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has made mask-wearing compulsory, for Texans. Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed an executive order last week, which allows Arkansas cities to adopt an ordinance on whether or not to require wearing a face mask out in public. Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins mandated this week, that anyone entering a city business must wear a mask. However, as of this posting, a Caddo Parish District Judge has temporarily restrained that order, because some businesses filed an injunction against the mayor.

It’s all very confusing.

No matter where you personally fall on the issue of mask-wearing, masks are here. Masks are there. And we have found masks everywhere, especially with the help of our good friend LaFonda Clough, Bowie County Health Nurse. She told me about finding a five-pack of masks at a Dollar General store near her.

We like these. As advertised, the masks are breathable, washable, and reusable…even though more than one station male described them as looking just like athletic supporters. Hey, the black ones were all sold out. What are you going to do?

Our Sales Manager April Jones brought in a package of masks and put on our desks. They are also white in color. Turning over the package, there was some interesting information.

LaFonda stayed on the Mask Hunt for us.  She found the jackpot at her local Walmart.

At least, there are some pink, girly-girl ones, for we ladies who enjoy color and variety.

If you prefer a print, camo, your favorite ball team, cartoon characters, or anything on your mask that isn’t a solid color, there are many places to find those, as well. Some are made locally, by industrious folks who are still working from home. Some are being sold at area boutiques; those masks are frequently re-ordered.  And there are some links for online shopping.

And the list goes on and on.

Here in mid-July, a mask or anything on the face just feels so hot, doesn’t it? Maybe this article we ran across in Better Homes and Gardens will help you.

All in all, it appears that for the time being, the face mask is here to stay. We might as well find one we like, or several. I only wish that I had stock in them.
