Marine Greg Back with the Vietnam Veterans #278 and the Texarkana Area Veterans Council joined the morning show to talk about two big events coming up to raise money for local veterans.
First this Friday February 14th the Annual Chili and Gumbo Cook-Off from 11am to 1pm inside the Truman Arnold Center at Texarkana College. It's year 25 for the chili cook-off, and the 1st year that gumbo has been added. $8 is all it takes to taste test all the chili and gumbo you want, you can also be part of the peoples choice by voting for your favorites.
Then on Saturday March 15th, the Annual Wagons for Veterans going on at the Four States Fairgrounds, featuring cooking over the open flames. They start serving at 11:30 on that day until the food runs out. Also a car show, music entertainment and more. Eat all you want for $18 dollars for adults and $9 for kids under 13.
