It’s About the ‘Weight’ Until My Birthday Cake

The ugly truth is the holidays have been very bad for me.  Well, as far as my weight is concerned.  I mean it all started back in November when I decided to fudge a little bit.  After all who can refuse all those Thanksgiving goodies?  And all those Thanksgiving leftovers?  Then, while I was still in my semi-coma from all the carbs and sweets, I decided that December should be a free month.  You know a month free from worrying about what to eat or not eat.  Come on, it’s Christmas time.  Besides, that gives me something to do when the New Year comes.  I can resolve to get back to eating better.

Time sure does fly because it’s almost February.  And I have yet to change my way of eating.  My scale is now screaming “Get Off Me!”  What’s worse is my Fitbit has kept track of all my gains.  I can now track my lack of self-discipline scientifically.  OK, so now I have a new goal.  After my birthday I promise I will get back to doing more exercise and eating less food.  I can’t start before then because then how am I going to be able to eat my birthday cake?

Be honest.  Are you not only feeling my pain…but are you also sharing my pain?  Have you gained weight from all the end of the year holiday feasting?  What are you going to do about it?  And are you going to use the next holiday, Valentine’s Day, as another excuse to indulge?  The truth can be hard to swallow.  Too bad all the Valentine’s candy won’t be.
