The spread of the coronavirus and COVID-19 across the United States has been hard for all of us, but it’s been really difficult for kids, specifically the young adults that are set to graduate high school this year.
To ease the pain of not getting the chance to participate in the festivities and normal activities associated with being a high school senior, Facebook groups have sprung up across the nation to celebrate our graduating seniors and to let them know that even though the world is crazy right now, they are not forgotten.
The group highlighting our local high school seniors is Adopt a Senior 2020 -ArkLaTex on Facebook. Don’t have a senior in high school? It doesn’t matter, they are encouraging everyone in the community to participate!

How you can participate:
If you have a Senior please create a post and post Pics, Senior’s Name, School they’re Graduating from, and their Accomplishments
Look just below this Announcement and click on the Topic Tab “WAITING FOR ADOPTION” this will filter those remarkable Seniors that are still available for some love and encouragement.
Once you find your Senior simply comment on their post “I want to adopt”
The “adopter” or the Senior parent/whoever posted the Senior can now Private Message each other (please check your “other” folder in your messages if you aren’t currently FB friends) with things the Senior likes such as
▪️ Favorite Candy
▪️ Favorite Drink
▪️Favorite Store
▪️Favorite sport/sports team
▪️Hobbies
▪️Favorite RestaurantThe “adopter” can use this information to “gift” the Senior just to brighten this otherwise uncertain time.
After the Senior is Adopted the Senior parent/whoever posted the Senior will then edit their post and put ADOPTED at the top.
We are able to hold “some” contests thanks to the generosity of people donating from our community.
