Today, we pause and remember a true American patriot that continues to change the world. Chris Kyle’s book American Sniper is one of my son’s favorite books. I wanted my son to understand and inherently know that the strong protect the weak. I needed him to know that we have an obligation to live our best life and leave things better than we found them.
Two quotes from Chris Kyle that my son and I took to heart are:
“It is our duty to serve those who serve us.”
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either”
