Memorial Day is the day set aside for Americans to remember and honor those Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice while in the uniform of the United States military while on duty. This year there are at least five Memorial Day services in our area. We will continue to add to this list as information is shared.
Hillcrest Cemetary Memorial Day Service
Monday, May 29th, at 2:00 pm, the Texarkana Funeral Home will host a Memorial Day service at Hillcrest Cemetery on Hwy 67 West.
40th Annual Memorial Day service
Monday, May 29, 2023, the Texarkana Area Chapter # 278 of the Vietnam Veterans of America will host the 40th Annual Memorial Day service at 11:45 am at the Korea/Vietnam Memorial at Seventh Street & State Line Avenue. Remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while in the uniform of the United States Military while protecting our freedoms. And those that are still unaccounted for are the POW/MIAs. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
Miller County Court House Memorial Day Service
The American Legion will be hosting a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 29 at 11:00 am at the Miller County Courthouse. Following this service, VVA #287 will host a service at 11:45 am at the Korea/Vietnam Memorial.
Memorial Day Service at Memorial Gardens
Pause and remember our fallen heroes on Sunday, May 28 at Memorial Gardens on Hwy 67 East at 2 pm. This Memorial Day Service is at Memorial Gardens and the Texarkana Area Veterans Council and will begin at 2:00 pm.
