If you are looking for some fishing fun, Governor Asa Hutchinson invites everyone to come and enjoy a Free Fishing Weekend in Arkansas, June 11 – 13. Come on out and enjoy the Natural State and enjoy the great waters, fish without fishing licenses or trout permits. There are also several fishing derbies that you must register to compete. We have complete details below.

Free Fishing Days

Noon Friday, June 11, until midnight Sunday night, June 13

Residents and nonresidents may fish anywhere in Arkansas noon Friday, June 11, until midnight Sunday night, June 13, without fishing licenses or trout permits. Regulations for Arkansas waters apply: daily limits, slot limits and length limits must be observed. An annual tradition sponsored by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and approved by Gov. Hutchinson, Free Fishing Weekend gives many people the opportunity to enjoy the amazing angling The Natural State has to offer.

In addition to the lifting of the license requirement, the AGFC has stocked nearly 50 Family and Community Fishing locations across the state and will host fishing derbies at the four hatcheries below on Saturday, June 12 for young anglers and their families.

Space is limited. Registration is manditory.

New this year, adults will also be able to fish with their kids.

Derby attendees must register in advance and will be permitted to fish from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 12. Due to Covid restrictions, there is a cap on the number of attendees. Registration is required for an entry ticket which is required for entry to the derby. Each child must be supervised by an adult. Each person may catch and keep up to three catfish.
