COVID-19 hasn’t stopped crime in our area. TTPD wants everyone to remember to lock your vehicle and secure your valuables when out enjoying our parks and recreation areas.
We’ve had a few burglaries of cars parked at Spring Lake Park and Bringle Park over the last couple of days.
Most of the time, car burglars won’t break out a window because they’re afraid that someone might hear it and call us. It calls too much attention to them. They’ll try to door handle and usually just move on if it’s locked. However, they may decide that it’s worth the risk if they look and can clearly see a purse, wallet, or cell phone just laying there in the seat or on the console.
Don’t make it easy for criminals. Remember to lock your car doors, take your keys, and hide any valuables.
