There will be some big changes with the new numbers from the UIL concerning high school sports.

The biggest change for Texarkana is Texas High moving from Class 5a Division I to Division II. It’s all based on student enrollment.

This will be good news for the Tigers, because they will be able to have district opponents who are a lot closer to Texarkana, which will cut down on travel times and expense.

It will also mean the Tigers will have a better chance at winning District Championhips.

Pleasant Grove and Liberty-Eylau will remain in Class 4a Division II.

One not so great result of new numbers is that powerhouse Carthage will also be residing in Division II as well.

Arkansas numbers will come out at a later date.
