There’s good news for those families and homes on the Millwood Water System. David Sohmer, Environmental Health Specialist Engineer, gives the all-clear:

The Department of Health has released the ‘Boil Water ‘ notice issued on 7-6-2020, 8:17 AM by Jeff Corbell, for the entire system. This order was issued as a precautionary measure because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of complete loss in normal system pressure.

Bacteriological samples taken on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, were found to be ‘safe’ and a satisfactory disinfectant level has been established throughout the distribution system. The water is therefore considered ‘safe’ for human consumption and the ‘Boil Water’ notice is hereby lifted.

The Boil Water Order was due to a fire hydrant repair/break.
