With social distancing having become a normal way of being out in public now, it’s good to see the return of the drive-in movie.
You see, kids…back in the olden days, there used to be these large plots of land, complete with a huge movie screen that could be seen from the road, parking slots with speakers that attached to your car window, to hear the dialogue, and good-sized concession stand, for drinks and popcorn. These were known as drive-in theaters.
Beginning this weekend, you and your family can experience a drive-in theater experience, on the campus of the University of Arkansas–Hope Campus, as presented by Hempstead Hall.
The movie ‘Back to the Future’ will be shown at 8:30 PM, this Saturday night, May 9th.
Come to the UAHT Hope Campus to see “Back to the Future.” The drive-in movie will be set up in the large parking lot behind the Distance Learning Building (follow the signs on campus).
Due to cautions surrounding COVID-19, all moviegoers will need to remain in their personal vehicles for the entirety of the movie.
Tickets: please consider making a donation to “Hope for All: COVID-19 Relief Fund”
In the weeks to come, ‘Moana’ and other family movies will be shown. So bring your kids, your snacks, and enjoy a blast from the past, in more ways than one.
