Hempstead County has had different movie theatres, from the Saenger to the Rialto in downtown Hope. The Hempstead County Historical Society would like to showcase a movie in those theatres. For this Christmas Season, see the wonderful holiday classic “It’s A Wonderful Life,” first played in Hempstead County at the Rialto Theatre on Main Street in July 1947.
The movie will be at Hempstead Hall on Friday, December 15, at 7 pm. Doors open at 6 pm. Admission is $5 per person. Children under 6 years of age are free. Come early and enjoy a piece of cake to celebrate the birthday of Hempstead County before the movie.
