Beginner: Attend a Basic course or class. Skill awareness and knowledge imparted. Potentially may get to participate in the skill actively. Participation is with an instructor or mentor. Mostly classroom-style instruction.

This class will offer instructions for choosing equipment and landing the fish. Learn the equipment available, knot tying, choosing bait & operating a reel. There will be plenty of time on the bank to catch fish as there is a fishing derby beginning at 9:00 am. Please bring your own bait and equipment. You may also want to bring your own chair. Please dress appropriately, bring sunscreen, and wear comfortable outdoor shoes. Anyone who plans on fishing 16 and older must have a fishing license.
