Flower Acres and East Texas Food Bank will be distributing produce this Thursday morning, 8:00 AM, on August 6th, 3000 Flower Acres Road, Texarkana, Texas. Pantry Director Angela Lockamy advises those in line.Line up on Bender road. Do not use Beechwood or Flower Acre Road to approach the church, we will have to turn you around back out to Bender.
WEAR A MASK WHEN YOU COME THROUGH THE LINE. The odds are by the time you get to me and hand me your paper, I have touched 1,000 hands taking the papers from the cars that came before you.
We asked you to wear your mask to protect yourself and us.
Have your white slip of paper with your name written on it ready to hand off immediately as you come up under the awning. This stream line the process when you have the paper ready to hand off.
Please do not bring dogs through. Some of our volunteers are afraid of dogs. All dogs will bite. This is a risk we don’t need to take.
Please don’t be on your cell phone when you come up under the awning. People step out, load your trunk and step back out of the way.
It’s an alarming process but it’s the only way we can do it and get it done quickly.
We ask that once you come under the awning please slowly roll past each station.
If you will slowly roll without stopping, people will load you as you roll past. The only place you should stop is when you are handing off your paper at the beginning.
Once you get to the end, a gentleman will close your trunk and send you on your way. The whole process takes about 28 seconds to get loaded if everyone is prepared and knows how to drive through.
We will have another truck on Monday 10 August. Put that on your calendar. Line up on bender Road at 8 a.m. for that truck. This truck on 10 August is our regularly scheduled truck. The truck on Thursday of this week is an unscheduled truck so there will BE LOTS OF SURPRISES! They clean out the warehouse on these unscheduled trucks!

Oh… if you are one of the people that line up early on Bender Road, please be quiet. Our neighbors are complaining that they can hear your radios, doors and trunk slamming. If Bender Road becomes a problem and the neighbors start to call the police, we will have to shut down.
