Miss Texas Outstanding Teen 2020 Allie Graves of Texarkana wants you to get out and walk today, for those victims of child abuse.

You see, Allie was abused early as a small child, by her biological parents. Her story is sad, compelling, yet positive. She was adopted at age five, by Mark and April Graves. Her new home life gave her a loving, stable family, complete with three brothers. She is known for being a good student, a leader in school, a fine vocalist, and a winner, in many aspects of life. Her Miss Texas Outstanding Teen platform is the fight against child abuse and to bring awareness to the problem.

Today, April 17th, we are all invited to “Walk a Mile In Their Shoes”, between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. You can walk in your neighborhood, at the track, or in an area park. Allie says:

There are three easy steps….

1. Wear Blue

2. Get out and walk a mile where you are.

3. Post a photo on social media, tag Allie Grace Graves and use the hashtags:
#WhatLoveCanDo
#RaceAgainstChildAbuse
#NoExcuseForChildAbuse

If you think a child is being abused or neglected, you can call the Texas Department of Family Services Abuse Hotline at 1-800-252-5400.
