Columbus Day is coming soon. Do you still celebrate Columbus Day? I remember as a grade school kid always celebrating Columbus as “discovering America”. I still remember that Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492. With 3 ships…the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria.
But nowadays we know Columbus did not really discover America. There were others who got here before him. Like the Vikings.
Plus, many now hold the day Columbus landed as a bad day. They don’t celebrate it and consider it more of an invasion of native people who lived in the Americas.
