Remember playing Monopoly? A game created back in the Great Depression days. I do. But it was never my favorite game. Maybe that explains why I’m not rich today? But I bet the folks who make the game Monopoly are RICH. If they are not they should be with all the various versions that they have come out with over the years.
I saw that there are well over 1000 versions of the game. I remember playing the old game that was very similar to the original game. I also remember seeing “new” games based on many themes as the years passed. But now the latest ones I’ve seen on the news are names like, “Monopoly for Socialists”, “Monopoly for Millenials”, and just the other day “MS Monopoly”. Some of these I’ve tried to find to buy online and find that they are selling for more money than I ever won playing Monopoly.
So what do you think? Has Monopoly gone too far in all it’s many versions and incarnations? Do you play Monopoly? What version is your favorite? Call me OLD but I’m still partial to the Old Game. But I’d love to hear about your experiences playing the “new” versions that you can buy nowadays. What am I missing not playing the new versions of Monopoly?
