Llama Friday: Stained Glass Llamas is this Friday, April 17th, 2:00 PM, live from the Discovery Place Interactive Museum, 215 Pine…

It’s almost llama time! This Friday Velvet and Jamie will be showing us how to make 2 different types of “stained glass” llamas using materials you probably already have on hand. If you don’t have the right supplies for one, you probably do have supplies for the other, or you can make both!

Option 1 Supplies: Llama sun catcher

– Wrapping tissue OR color crepe paper OR color paper napkins. If you have white wrapping tissue, you can use crayons to color pieces for this craft. If you have none of these, you can use any thin white paper and color it with crayons or colored pencils. Ideally, some light can shine through your chosen paper.
– Clear packing tape
– Black poster board or construction paper. Another dark color can be substituted – this will create the outline for your project.
-double-sided tape or glue
-scissors
-ruler
-pencil; If you have a white colored pencil, this might be better for marking the dark paper

Option 2 Supplies: Llama crayon stained glass art

– Crayon shavings, any color. You can use an old food grater to make the shavings or used a pair of scissors to whittle a few shavings. A pencil sharpener also works. Don’t use whole crayons or large pieces.
– Wax paper
– permanent marker
– ruler
– scissors
-iron (it’s better if you have an old one that you don’t mind getting dirty)
– newspaper or old towel to protect your ironing surface and your iron
