Mostly good news concerning covid, although it’s still very much around.

Here is a Press Release from the Joint Operations Center:

The Texarkana Bowie County Family Health Center is now offering both Moderna and Pfizer
COVID-19 vaccines to ages 6 months and older. The clinic also has Johnson & Johnson vaccines for ages 18 years and older. The COVID-19 vaccine is free, and available to everyone.
The clinic sees walk-in patients Monday- Thursday 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and is closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. The clinic reopens from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Bowie County Judge Bobby Howell explains that the current strain of COVID seems to be more communicable than past strains. “Trends seem to be showing that while this strain of COVID is easier to catch, our hospitalizations are not rising at the same rate of new cases,” Howell said. “This is good news. Still, we need to take what precautions we can to stay healthy.”

The Texarkana Bowie County Family Health Center also offers testing for symptomatic patients.
