Tonight – Spectacular Meteor Shower With Hundreds of Falling Stars

Tonight is a great night to stop and watch the meteors lighting up the skies late Monday into early Tuesday.  The shooting stars will will be most numerous, bright and colorful. Tips to make sure you see Mother Nature’s “Light Show.”

“Up to 100 meteors per hour will occur during the peak night,” AccuWeather Astronomy Blogger Dave Samuhel said. Too see this magical display try to keep your back to the moon.

“Perseids are not only numerous, they are beautiful. Most of the meteors leave a glittering trail as they pass,” Samuhel said. “They are multi-colored and many are bright.”

Tonight we have an almost full moon which may make it a bit more difficult to see entire “light show”… so keep the moon out of your sight and look to the darkest part of the sky.
