Yesterday it happened again. My phone rang. With a number I did not recognize. So again I let it ring for it’s usual 20 seconds and waited to see if whoever it was would leave a Voice Message. A lot of times all I get is a call with no message. But this time my phone beeped to let me know I had a message.
So once again I listen to my Voice Mail to see if perhaps some long lost friend had found me. But no, alas once again for the what feels like the millionth time…it was a recorded message. This time it told me I was going to be arrested for FRAUD if I did not call immediately and give the last 4 of my Social Security number.
I had also received a similar message earlier in the day from a different number once again telling me I was in trouble with the law for some abuse I know nothing about. But so far I’m happy to say no police have shown up at my door.
Are you like me SICK of all these ROBO CALLS on your Cell phone, Home phone, and even Work phone? I have applied many times to be put on the “Do Not Call List” and have never noticed it ever helped Slow or Stop any of these unwanted calls. Sometimes I think it makes it worse. When I’ve made the mistake of actually answering a call and having a live human on the line I’ve told them to put me on their Do Not Call List. But again I think I’m wasting my time and breath. Because it seems that very same person calls back again and again. There are times I think I could live without a phone because of all these scam calls.
What about you? Have you found a way to avoid these intrusions into your life? Or do you just accept them as the cost of using phones these days. Tell me about how you deal with these neverending calls.
