Texarkana Texas Police made quick work of bringing to justice a local teenager who allegedly stole from a local convenience store.

Here is a Press Release from TTPD:

Last Tuesday night, three young men came into a convenience store on Richmond Road and told the clerk that they wanted to buy some cigarettes. However, they were turned away because they didn’t have any identification to show they were old enough to buy them. As two of the guys turned to leave, the third one grabbed a display case sitting on the counter that contained over $3,100 in vape pens and ran out the door with it. The other two seemed to be completely surprised by what he’d just done and didn’t follow him. As you might expect, the whole deal was captured on the store’s surveillance video and that helped us solve this case.

Officer Brent Hobbs sent a screenshot from the video to TISD Police, who immediately identified the suspect at 17 year old Lavanta Guest. After confirming it was actually him, Detective Jennifer Billingsley got an arrest warrant for the theft and went to his house in Wake Village with the police department there. They arrested Guest without incident and were able to recover some of the stolen property.
Guest was booked into the Bi-State Jail and his bond was later set at $10,000.
