Shooting in Wake Village

Yesterday a twenty-eight-year-old male was shot in Wake Village, Texas, with a high-powered air rifle and was listed in critical condition at an area hospital. WVPD took a suspect into custody, but the suspect was released after questioning. Complete details to follow.

On 07-21-2022 at around 12:45 pm., officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 800 block of MacArthur in Wake Village, Texas. Upon their arrival, officers found a 28 year old white male on the front porch of a residence bleeding from a chest wound. Officers began providing first aid as other officers on scene located the suspected shooter and took him into custody. The injured party was transported from the scene by LifeNet EMS to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.

WVPD conducted a crime scene investigation and interviewed several individuals with the assistance of Nash PD. The suspected shooter was interviewed and released without charges at this time. The initial investigation has determined the injured party was shot with a high powered adult air rifle and appears to have been self defense. The investigation is on-going and there are details of this incident that have not been released. There is no threat or danger to the community.
