Smart Kids Rock the Quiz Bowl

Much of the time, we will promote or post our school-aged athletes. Which is a very good thing. We are proud of our kids who excel in sports. But what about a different kind of sport? The sport that exercises grey matter.

My friend Ronda Pounds is very good about sending me stories and photos of the accomplishments of the Ashdown School District student bodies. She is the Public Information Coordinator for the district. This particular media release made me smile. It’s not often that we get to brag on third and fourth grade children, for winning a tournament, that has nothing to do with kicking a ball, or swinging a bat. Instead, these kids rocked the questions and answers at an area meet at Genoa Central, enough to win the whole thing, and bring home a trophy…for being sharp, and quick.

Congratulations to the L.F. Henderson Quiz Bowl Team, for winning the Genoa Invitational Tournament, on February 24th. You positively ROCK.
