Ever wonder how selfish people live with the way they act? A new study from Yale says selfish people act that way because their brains don’t allow them to remember their own selfish behavior.

The study found that selfish people suffer from a memory glitch that makes them believe they acted way more selflessly than they actually did; like misremembering that they gave a big tip when really they stiffed the waiter. The researchers say that’s how they can live with themselves.
