A weekend shooting incident leaves two people injured.
Here is a Press Release from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department:
On the evening of May 18, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers from the Texarkana Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at Village Park South Apartments, located at 2225 East Street. Multiple callers reported gunfire and a potential victim near the back of the complex. Officers also received reports of a possible shooting victim at 1205 East Street, EZ Mart, leading authorities to investigate whether the incidents were related or separate.
Upon arrival at Village Park South Apartments, Miller County Sheriff Deputies began assisting a wounded individual, identified as Randy Page, a white male and 19 years of age, with a gunshot wound. Officers also discovered a second gunshot victim, Artaja Mitchell, a black female and 20 years of age, at the EZ Mart. A third subject, Scirs Purifory, a black male and 20 years of age, was also location at the EZ Mart and arrested for charges not related to the incident. Both victims were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
