Texarkana College Celebrates 96 Years

Texarkana College has been continuing students academic careers for almost a century.

According to a Press Release from T.C.:

In 1927, Texarkana U.S.A. entered a new era with the opening of the area’s first institution of higher education – Texarkana Junior College. When classes began on the morning of September 20, eighty students were eagerly entering a new phase of their lives. According to record books now in the Palmer Memorial Library Archives, the first student to pay her tuition was Evelyn Wilson. The photos below are of the first four students to enroll in August 1927 for the fall semester.
