They Are The Greatest Generation

Once again, they’ve proven they are the GREATEST generation! Today’s Warm and Fuzzy story comes from Oregon, where a 104-year-old World War II veteran has beaten the coronavirus. William “Bill” Lapschies is the second war vet this week from Oregon to survive the pandemic.

Mr. Bill, who was stationed in the Aleutian Islands during WWII, lived through the Spanish Flu, the Great Depression, and a couple of recessions, said it feels pretty good to turn 104… and felt like he was good for a couple more.

Bill, who had been isolated in his nursing home room since March 5th, was happy to wave to family members (from a safe distance) as they gathered to celebrate outside the nursing home where he lives.
