What takes others a lifetime to achieve, local musician Hailey Wright achieved her dream after only 2.5 years of performing, beginning in 2020. She was drawn to music as a young child, but once she had the opportunity to immerse herself in the passion, she soared. Performing at local venues and using her talent to help others, mainly non-profit organizations in Texarkana that directly impact the community.
Community is what it’s all about for Wright, and Texarkana has come together to support her on the journey to becoming a household name. “I perform yearly at Domestic Violence and Literacy Council benefits for the last two years,” she said.
She also takes up any opportunity to volunteer and donate her talents to local charities, regardless of their cause. However, it wasn’t until 2020 that she started to perform and sing at local venues, such as Hopkins Ice House and the Hideout, where she is set to debut her full band for the first time ever.
She’s also been able to travel and perform outside Texarkana, such as Ricochet and Kody West, at the Hochatown Saloon in Oklahoma. However, her most significant achievement was reaching American Idol in 2020. Since then, she has committed to playing music in Texarkana, connecting with people in the community, and bringing them together through her music. “Music is a powerful tool, its way to connect to my audience.” You can catch her at open mic night, jamming, or at a local fundraiser in Texarkana supporting a good cause.
